Mums-to-be, new parents and young families will be making their way to Lisbon’s major event centre, FIL, in Parque das Nações, this weekend for Bebés & Mamãs, the city’s annual parenting fair. The event was first established in Barcelona and Madrid and reached Lisbon in 2002, where it quickly became a hit, with visitor numbers at the 2003 fair reaching a staggering 62,000.
Due to take place on September 25 and 26, and open from 10am to 8pm daily, the fair aims to offer a both enjoyable and informative day out for mums-to-be and parents with children up to nine years old. Complementary activities include infant massage demonstrations, fashion shows featuring maternity and children’s wear, competitions and prize draws, face painting plus fun with resident clowns.
The fair also provides parents with easy access to hundreds of baby care and children’s products, with stands from a wide range of brands all under one roof.In addition, to make the day out as comfortable as possible, there will be a range of free services and amenities, including a baby food restaurant, breast feeding area, story telling corner, pushchair park and baby changing area.
