An open event to introduce baby massage classes led by qualified instructor Noeline Oldham is taking place today (January 25) at Estética para Profissionais – International Beauty School, in Lagos, at 10.30am.
Massaging your baby can help with practical everyday problems such as crying, difficulty in sleeping, colic and anxiety.
Physical benefits of baby massage include improving the baby’s immune system, improving circulation, helping with digestion, relieving colic and easing constipation, as well as supporting motor nerve development and reducing stress and tension.
Psychological benefits for your baby include an increased feeling of security, comfort and reduced anxiety, encouragement of relaxation, aiding better sleep, and a general feeling of being loved and close to mother or father, which helps the baby to self-calm and brings a feeling of well-being.
New and expectant mums and dads, maternity nurses and other interested parties are invited to the beauty school to meet Noeline and find out more about the baby massage courses and what they entail. Participation in the open event is free.
