Researchers at Aveiro university have created the ‘flattie’ – a foldable cork helmet to be worn by cyclists or those on electric scooters, and stored easily when not required. The flattie has already been tested in the laboratories of Abimota – the national association for two-wheeler industries . and has passed the European approval requirements “with distinction”, according to a note from the university.
