A TOUR of the Douro region was this year’s autumn break for 48 members of CASA Social Club. The first night was a stopover at Óbidos (north of Lisbon), where the group toured the old walled town. Day two was on to Porto, in preparation for the boat trip up the river Douro to Régua the following day.
It was a most impressive journey through large dams with scenery to match. Members spent two nights in Régua before heading south for a break at a hotel in Vila Franca de Xira, where a gala dinner in celebration of St. Martin’s Day was held.
