AFPOP, Portugal’s largest foreign residents’ association, is holding its annual sporting and social event, the Autumn Festival (previously known as Gala Week) at the end of September and the beginning of October.
The events are open to AFPOP members and non-members, and are designed to bring people together in a fun and relaxed environment. The time-table for events is as follows:
Golf: Monday, September 25 Boa Vista Golf Club, Lagos
Walk: Friday, Setember 29 Estoi/Santa Bárbara de Nêxe area
Tennis: Saturday, September 30 Carvoeiro Tennis club
Bowls: Tuesday, October 3 Santo António Bowling Club, Alvor
Bridge: Wednesday, October 4 Hotel Garbe, Armação de Pêra
Gala dinner dance
The Gala dinner and dance has returned this year to the prestigious Meridian Penina Hotel in Portimão and, instead of being at the end of the Autumn Festival, will take place a few weeks later, on November 11. Tickets are priced at 45 euros and will include pre-dinner drinks. The Gala dinner and dance is, once again sponsored by euroFinesco, with music provided by the Saraband duo.
