Palmela’s Autoeuropa car plant is to close for an unspecified number of weeks from September because of the “impossibility” of Slovenia to provide parts as a result of the devastating floods the country recently experienced. The missing parts, explains the VW owned factory, are vital for engine constructions. In the note explaining the stoppage to workers, there is no date given for returning to production. Autoeuropa will in the meantime be sourcing different suppliers.
