Authorities to reassess Covid measures for passengers from China

Health minister Manuel Pizarro has said today that an assessment of the Covid-19 situation in Portugal should be made at the end of the month to decide whether or not to maintain restrictions on passengers coming from China. He took the opportunity to clarify that, at this moment, Portugal has a “scenario of tranquility”, with regard to the virus – but that people should still come forwards to receive their vaccine boosters, as “it is a ‘priority measure’ to protect from Covid-19”. By coincidence, Japan today has downgraded the threat of Covid-19 to that of seasonal flu.
