The first event of the “Austa + friends” series sees the restaurant’s Head Chef David Barata prepare an eight-plate, four-hands menu with Chef Joshua Plunkett from Quinta do Lago’s Botânico on October 7.
Almancil’s new ingredient-focused eatery is hosting a series of Guest Chef Pop-Up Dinners in collaboration with Algarve chefs. The first Austa + friends pop-up dinner on October 7 will see chef Joshua Plunkett from Quinta do Lago’s Botânico restaurant collaborate with Austa’s Head Chef, David Barata, on an eight-plate, four-hands menu.
Together, the chefs will explore the late summer harvest – sourced from their combined roster of small, local, independent suppliers – before chef Joshua Plunkett “leaves the country for pastures new this Autumn”.
Passing through some of the world’s greatest kitchens – Momofuko and Atera in New York, Saison in San Fransisco, Taihou in Kyoto, and most recently consulting for and launching Botânico in Quinta do Lago – Joshua Plunkett is a chef who is driven by the deeply rooted discovery of cultural melting points and the breaking of traditional boundaries.
Tickets cost €100 per person (inc. VAT) and can be booked through Austa’s Instagram profile or via email at [email protected].
