Work to repair the façade of the Lagoa Auditorium is to begin soon in an investment of more than €76,000.
The multipurpose cultural venue, which was inaugurated in April 2005, has seen its exterior walls gradually revealing a major construction fault relating to the ceramic tiles covering the façade, with most of the pieces having come detached (see picture taken this week).
Lagoa Câmara said in a press statement that a municipal team of technicians had been created to discuss the construction faults with the insurance company regarding the repair of the façade and to assess the responsibility of the builder, who has since been declared insolvent.
“The money (€76,742.91) has been paid by the insurance company and work can thus proceed,” stated the Câmara.
