YORKSHIRE FOLK living in the Algarve have the chance to become TV stars on one of the UK’s most popular regional news programmes!
Calendar, which broadcasts to the Yorkshire TV region, is visiting the Algarve from July 10 to July 14, to seek out local people living or working in Portugal.
The visit is connected to the promotion of new airline routes from regional airports in the UK – and it’s an opportunity to meet former viewers! The Calendar region includes all four counties of Yorkshire, plus Lincolnshire, North Nottinghamshire and North Derbyshire.
Anyone living or working in the Algarve with an interesting tale to tell should contact producer Mark Witty, who is co-ordinating the visit. Mark said: “In the last few years, the programme has expanded its horizons by meeting people abroad throughout Europe. It’s a great chance to let friends and relatives back home see what you’re getting up to – it’s like a visual postcard home.”
