Attempted murder in Praia da Luz

A YOUNG foreign woman was viciously attacked outside her home in Praia da Luz last week. Her attacker was wearing a mask and gloves and threatened her at knifepoint, demanding she go with him into her home. A struggle ensued and the woman was stabbed repeatedly before being left for dead. The woman is still undergoing medical treatment for a collapsed lung and several knife wounds, but is making a good recovery. It is believed the man was unknown to the victim. Enquiries are being made by Lagos GNR and the Polícia Judiciária’s homicide unit are also now involved in investigating the incident. At the time of going to press, no further information was being released by the authorities.
