ATA invites tour operators to learn more about Algarve

Online courses aimed at international tour operators are free

The Algarve Tourism Association (ATA) has launched a new round of free online training courses for international tour operators who want to “improve or update” their knowledge about the region.

Explains ATA, the goal is to provide a “complete and detailed perspective about the diversity of what the Algarve has to offer, all year round and across its entire territory”.

“We want to invite professionals of the sector to deepen their knowledge about our destination and discover new facets and motivations that go beyond the attributes that are already internationally recognised, such as our beaches, the nice weather or our award-winning golf courses,” said ATA president João Fernandes.

In other words, the courses explore subjects such as the Algarve’s “hidden gems, nature and sustainability, attractions, meetings and events industry”.

Two courses have already been launched for the UK and USA markets, while a third is due to be launched soon aimed at the French market. Nonetheless, the tourism association says the courses are open to “all professionals of the sector who want to know more about the destination”.

“Participants will have the opportunity to become true specialists of what the region offers, learning about each subject at their own pace,” ATA says, adding they will also have access to “complementary content about the Algarve, such as e-books (…) and a list of useful contacts”.

They will also have a chance to win a ‘fam trip’ to the region organised by ATA.
