At least 86% of population has antibodies against SARS-CoV-2

According to the most recent serologic inquiry, 86% of the Portuguese population has antibodies against SARS-CoV-2 – either acquired through vaccinations or natural infection. Baltazar Nunes, an epidemiologist working out of INSA (public health institute Dr Ricardo Jorge) has warned this morning’s meeting with the government at Infarmed that he believes 20% of previously infected citizens who are not vaccinated will have already lost their immunity to new infection.
