Requests for asylum plummeted by over 45% in 2020, though cases in which authorities had to support non-accompanied minors increased by over 108%. In numbers, 157 citizens from Gambia requested asylum in Portugal, 117 from Angola, 92 from Guinea Bissau, 85 from Morocco, 79 from Senegal and Guinea Conacri, 42 from Nigeria, 30 from Afghanistan and 28 from the Congo.
