Astronaut shares stunning photo of Portugal to celebrate Carnation Revolution

French astronaut Thomas Pesquet wowed social media this week with stunning photographs of Portugal taken from Outer Space to celebrate Liberty Day last Tuesday.

Pesquet shared a full country photo on April 25, specifically to celebrate the 43rd anniversary of the Carnation Revolution that ended nearly four decades of dictatorship.

“Well, it’s not often that you see an entire country on one single photo, especially one that has as much to offer as Portugal,” wrote the astronaut.

He also shared another impressive photo of Lisbon, including the capital’s Monsanto park.

Other eye-catching photos taken by the astronaut, who is on a six-month mission at the International Space Station, can be found on his Twitter account (click here).
