A new association aimed at creating a framework to assist overseas buyers in Portugal was announced during the seventh annual Portuguese Property Conference held in London earlier this month.
The event, which was organised by the Portuguese Chamber of Commerce, saw expert speakers from the Portuguese property sector speaking on a number of issues to encourage movement in the market with Vasco Mendes of Pelicano Real Estate announcing the “imminent launch” of the National Resort Association in Portugal.
Vasco Mendes spoke of the importance of working together in the industry to help real estate sales and said that there were plans to launch a new lobbying group in Portugal to help overseas buyers.
Meanwhile, residential development expert Andre Jordan spoke of the need for Portugal to offer niche products for niche markets and for the industry to target “low key chic” buyers who are looking for “cheaply expensive” products.
