A number of couches were recently donated to the GNR police station in Vilamoura by Associação Renascer o Presente (AROP), a small social entrepreneurship association based in Quarteira.
According to AROP, the donation was brought on by the constant need to guarantee basic conditions for police officers such as the possibility to rest during their free-time. The association added that it is also committed to reinforcing the GNR HQ’s public service department with working desks.
Luís Gonçalves from AROP stated that police officers, “who watch over society 24 hours per day while risking their lives to ensure the safety and physical integrity of its citizens and infrastructures”, should be assured comfort from adequate equipment in the workplace.
