One out of every four men in the Asia-Pacific area has raped a woman and more than 70%were not punished for their crimes, according to a study by the United Nations (UN). The inquiry included 10,000 men between the ages of 18 and 49 in Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Papua New Guinea. A representative of the UN admitted during the presentation of the study that “violence against women is a harsh reality”.
