THE LEADER of the Portuguese Popular Party (CDS-PP) raised concerns about the methods, efficiency and media attention surrounding inspections of businesses in the food sector in parliament on Tuesday.
Diogo Feio, leader of CDS-PP, requested the presence of the general inspector of the food hygiene and economic activities agency (ASAE) and the Secretary of State for Commerce at parliament to answer to the possibility of abuse of power by ASAE.
The MP also said that the recent statements made by the president of ASAE to a national newspaper should be explained in parliament (See The Resident, January 4).
