Hundreds of people gathered today in front of the parliament building in Lisbon in a protest of “people united for Arts and Culture”, who are demanding a reinforcement of the allocation of sustained support to the arts for 2023/2026. Demonstrators, most of them dressed in black, started gathering early this morning. “We are talking about hundreds of jobs, hundreds of projects at risk”, explained one on yet another day where dissatisfaction with the country’s government is peppering the headlines.
