Artenata returns to Ferragudo

Ferragudo is hosting its iconic Christmas fair Artenata this weekend (December 3-4).

Featuring dozens of Algarve-based exhibitors, the event is held in the fishing village’s main Rainha D. Leonor square.

Novelties this year include a birds of prey show on Saturday at 1.30pm and a parrot show on Sunday at midday, as well as a series of showcooking events to be held by students of Dual, Portimão’s professional training school (in Portuguese and German).

Artenata’s entertainment programme also includes musical performances, a Zumba dance class at 11am on Sunday, and several activities for children including face painting and balloon modelling. Father Christmas himself is also set to make an appearance, at 5pm on Saturday.

Festivities will come to an end with a performance by Grupo Coral Ideias do Levante at 5pm on Sunday.

The fair begins at 10am and ends at 7pm on both days. Admission is free.
