Guests are invited to learn, watch and be entertained during the annual Arte Viva exhibition to be held at the São Brás Museum on July 9.
This year the organisers have decided to concentrate the event into a single evening, which promises to be packed with many activities including Satori street acts, Jouk’s fashion parade, the Aperitivo Theatre Group, Barber shop singing and the Amigos choir.
There will also be informative demonstrations and displays by the Amigos de São Brás Museum, including photography, needlework, sketching and painting.
Artist Jane Page will be leading the way in the production of a large mural which visitors are encouraged to contribute to.
The focus of the Arte Viva event, now in its 11th edition, is to display a wide range of arts and crafts while attracting local artists and artisans to come and sell handmade ceramics, glassware, jewellery and textiles.
Guests will be able to see an array of different styles, techniques and talents.
Arte Viva this year will have 46 stalls set up in the grounds of the museum complete with ethnic and regional food outlets and an alfresco dining area with music provided by Stepline Project –Didgeridoo and Synergy featuring Linda Scanlon, playing Irish music and popular tunes from the 70s and 80s.
