The Lake Spa Resort in Vilamoura is hosting, for the first time, an exhibition of artworks in association with Loulé’s contemporary art gallery ArtCatto.
The exhibition, which runs until the end of the year, features works by over 30 artists – including Nimrod Messeg, Pedro Guimarães, Shen Ming Cun, Craig Alan, Pezhman, Dom Pattinson and Jürgen Lingl – which are part of ArtCatto’s New Summer Collection and are being displayed at the hotel’s entrance and lobby.
ArtCatto was created by Gillian Catto who, after 30 years of successfully running a respected and internationally-renowned art gallery in London, decided to move to the Algarve.
Since the gallery opened 10 years ago, ArtCatto has hosted several previews and events exhibiting some of the best paintings, sculptures and photographs by national and international artists.
“Gillian Catto has developed an unmatchable reputation, being responsible for launching the art careers of several artists who went on to become well-known names, such as Scotland’s Jack Vettriano. Many artists are linked to Gillian, whose gallery has become synonymous with quality artworks,” says the resort in a communiqué to the press.
