“Art @ the Mag” is a celebration of the arts hosted by Omey Projects, and the new exhibition will see the grand opening on July 19, presenting three exciting, up and coming female artists with a summer collective of artworks at the Magnolia Hotel in Quinta do Lago.
The exhibition will feature Portuguese artist Margarida Fleming’s expressionistic portraits that draw you in and are often described as mesmerising – striking, bold and often mural-sized, with focus on the soul and souls behind the paint.
Dutch artist Marianne Hendrick with her curious, nature-inspired paintings explore her wonderment in storytelling while encapsulating her background in architecture and design that radiates through each piece. The abstract and natural designs are painted in a geometric format on natural fabrics.
British artist Alarah Gee’s contemporary geometric drawings demonstrate a systematic exploration. Her practice is centred around the science of line drawing and fascination with silhouettes, composition and form.
Omey Projects are an Algarve-based art curation and consultancy who run a series of pop-up exhibitions to support the artists they work with hosting shows in the funky Art Deco-styled Magnolia Hotel to showcase their bright, modern and original pieces.
This exhibition is free and will run for six weeks until the end of August.
If you happen to be around on the 19, pop in and meet some of the artists between 6.30pm and 8.30pm.
