Art on display

news: Art on display

Barringtons art exhibitions always aim to offer diverse displays of art and September’s exhibition is no different.

Caroline Bell is by far one of the most established and well known artists in the Algarve, as well as from her exhibitions in Chelsea and St James in London and past exhibitions in Cascais and Lagos. Her subjects range from realistic, spectacular seascapes and intimate urban studies, to more abstract imaginative work. Caroline works in a wide variety of media such as watercolours and oils, and also has several limited edition prints available.

Barringtons’ other September artist, Alexander Schuir, works in very different media, including lithography, plaster and wooden collage. For years, Schuir spent most of his time in the Algarve, where he was able to find a new way to express his form of creativity. He started with collages made of paper and then discovered tiles. He arranges new 3-D compositions made from coloured tiles, which must be cut and shaped to give visual impressions a unique form.

The exhibition is open to the public every day from 11am until 9pm. All the art is for sale. For more details on the present and future exhibitions, please contact Luke Pierce at Barringtons on 289 351 940.
