São Brás de Alportel Museum’s Jazz Club is the venue for a concert by the Art Life Quintet on February 19 from 5pm.
Members of the band have played around the globe and have a vast repertoire of their own jazz standards.
The Art Life Quintet is composed of Wenzel McGowen (sax), Attila Muehl (guitar), Giotto Roussies (piano), Charly Roussel (bass) and Eddie Jensen (drums).
Wenzl McGowen is co-founder of the successful NY subway trio Moon Hooch, Attila Muehl is one of the “hottest guitar players” in the Berlin jazz scene and Giotto Roussies teaches piano at the Cologne music school and is leader of the Giotto Quartet.
Charly Roussel has just finished his jazz baccalaureate in Amsterdam and is due to release his first album, Canvas Roussel, a mix of jazz and expressive song writing.
Eddie Jensen is said to be one of the most wanted drummers in Amsterdam and together with Charly Roussel they provide an “explosive swinging session”.
Cost per Amigos de Música members is €8 and for non-members €10.
