Works to protect the natural coastal environment and fortress at Arrifana in Aljezur have begun.
The plan is to be completed within 60 days at a cost of almost €101,000 and is part of the south west coast Polis (SPLS) which has been created to protect and enhance the south west coast of the Algarve and Alentejo.
Works will be undertaken by the construction company Planirest, including archaeological interventions at the fortress and the improvement of access and parking in this area.
