AROEIRA Golf Course in Almada, has been chosen by the organisers of the 2005 Lisbon Golf Festival to be one of the host courses. This prestigious tournament, which takes place from May 1 to May 8, is already a point of reference on the international amateur circuit. The maximum handicaps allowed for golfers taking part in this event are 26 (men) and 36 (women) and the tournament will get underway with a 72 hole to be played on the Costa Azul courses of Aroeira, Tróia and Quinta do Peru. Following this will be a betterball competition that will take place at Quinta da Marinha golf course, continuing at the courses of Penha Longa, Praia D’el Rey, and Belas. The competition closes with a gala dinner on May 7, set to take place at the Tivoli Palácio de Seteais hotel in Sintra.
