Armed robbery

Two men threatened an employee with a gun at a Galp service station in Estoi, near Faro, on Monday morning before escaping with 25,000 euros.

The robbers arrived at the service station around 10am and robbed a Portuguese man who arrived to collect the money that was taken at the service station over the weekend.

A GNR spokesman told the Algarve Resident: “The victim tried to resist the robbery but was hit on the head and fell to the ground before the two men fired two shots to the floor and escaped with the bag containing the money.”

The Polícia Judiciária is now investigating the incident.
