Ariana Grande’s concert in Lisbon “now in doubt”

Reported to have suspended her world tour following the terrorist attack in Manchester last night, US singer Ariana Grande’s concert scheduled for Sunday June 11 in Lisbon’s Meo Arena is now in doubt.

Diário de Notícias explains the show was to be the 23-year-old’s debut in Portugal, but that as she has ‘suspended’ The Dangerous Woman Tour, it is now possible that there will be no performance.

Right now, the paper adds, there are “very few tickets available for this concert” that would have followed gigs in London, Belgium, Poland, Germany, Switzerland and France.

Meantime, the aftermath of the attack is being beamed over the world’s news channels. Twenty two people, a number of them children, have been killed with three times that amount believed to have been injured.

Prime minister António Costa has tweeted: “Our deepest sympathies and solidarity to the British people, the victims and families of the #Manchester attack”, as have sports personalities like Cristiano Ronaldo and Nani.

National media has established that no Portuguese were among the victims.
