Film Argo won the best picture award at the 85th annual Academy Awards in Los Angeles. Ben Affleck and fellow producers George Clooney and Grant Heslov proudly accepted the most coveted award of the ceremony on Sunday night.
Among the other eight nominees were Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln, which was perceived as the biggest opponent to Argo, Life of Pi, Silver Linings Playbook, Zero Dark Thirty, Les Misérables, Amour, Beasts of the Southern Wild and Django Unchained.
Jennifer Lawrence became one of the youngest winners by taking the best actress award for Silver Linings Playbook. Daniel Day-Lewis won best actor and Anne Hathaway won best supporting actress.
