The Algarve Archaeology Association held its first meeting of the year on January 6 at its new venue in the São Brás Museum.
A talk, entitled Why Romans came to Iberia, was given by Professor Trevor Haywood.
The association’s next talk, Living Stones, by Dr John Cook will be held on February 3 at the São Brás Museum from 2.30pm and Lagoa’Ss São José convent from 6.30pm.
It will include details of the below ground foundations of Chichester, Winchester and Salisbury Cathedrals.
