The Arade river in Portimão will soon undergo dredging work to remove around 25,000sqm of sand from the riverbed, thus “improving navigability and security conditions” for smaller-sized boats. The €200,000 project will be carried out by the Algarve and Sines port authority (APSA) and has received the green light from the government. The work is also considered essential in order for Portimão to host the Powerboat Grand Prix of Portugal in July.
