Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Country and Western evening advertised for Saturday, September 25, at Casa Chilo Zé has been postponed until later in the year. However, the following two events will be going ahead. On October 2, the APAA will be celebrating World Animal Day at the kennels in Lagos. It is also the APAA’s longest resident Amber’s birthday, so organisers are inviting everyone to come along for an afternoon of fun, take part in their Tug-of-War and welly-wanging events. There will also be cake and bookstalls, tombola charity shop stall and bric-a-brac. Entrance is free and food and drink are available at the site. On the following Saturday, October 9, the APAA will be organising a 60s and 70s dance at Restaurant St. António, in Montes de Alvor. Dinner, including buffet, dessert, wine, water and coffee will cost 17.50 euros (half price for under 12 year olds). For further details, reservations or directions, call Linda Pixley on 919 368 726, fax 282 471 347 or Jenny Tucker on 919 041 903.
