Despite the government’s promise to lower the A22 motorway tolls, citizens’ movement Movimento Algarve Sem Portagens (Algarve Without Tolls) has said it has to be all, or nothing will have been achieved.
“The unfairness of the A22 tolls is not defined by their cost, but by their existence,” the movement said in a statement, affirming it will only stop campaigning when the Algarve is a toll-free zone.
