Anthony Bourdain showcases Porto gastronomy on CNN

World famous chef Anthony Bourdain was in Porto last weekend to film an episode of his popular CNN TV show ‘Parts Unknown’, to be aired later this year.

The Emmy-winning show sees Bourdain travelling all over the world, exploring a variety of cuisines and cultures.

According to Jornal de Notícias, his trip to Porto saw him tasting several traditional dishes, such as ‘Tripas à Moda do Porto’ (Porto-style tripe) at A Cozinha do Martinho restaurant as well as ‘lampreia’ (eel) at the Lordelo do Ouro riverside area.

He also visited the headquarters of PRO.VAR, an association dedicated to promoting the restaurant sector.

This was the third time Bourdain has been to Portugal to film an episode of one of his shows.

His first visit to Porto dates back to 2002, when he was the host of ‘A Cook’s Tour’. Ten years later, he filmed an episode of ‘No Reservations’ in Lisbon.
