A collaboration agreement was signed between the ANPC Algarve (Civil Protection Agency) and Safe Communities Algarve last month.
The protocol sets out a number of initiatives, particularly through the organisations’ websites, including promotion of civil protection awareness and fire prevention information.
At the ceremony, Commander Pinto from the ANPC said the protocol, which had been approved by the ANPC Headquarters in Lisbon, reflected the need for all the community to be aware of civil protection.
David Thomas said the agreement cemented recent collaborations between the two organisations concerning wildfire prevention and environmental protection.
Talks have already started on a series of displays/seminars for 2015.
