CASTELO DOS Sonhos, a registered charity that helps more than 200 elderly people living in the Silves area, wants to bring a sparkle to their festive period with its fourth annual shoebox drive.
Anyone wishing to give a gift to the elderly this Christmas is asked to give in their filled and wrapped shoe boxes to the Hotel Garbe in Armação de Pêra or to Castelo dos Sonhos in Silves by December 5.
Shoe boxes can be filled with a variety of goodies including soap, a woollen hat, a scarf and biscuits that have a long use by date.
Shaving equipment for men and other toiletries for women are also ideal. Medical products such as tablets and syrups should not be put into the gift boxes.
