Members of the Vila da Luz Bowls Club, situated at the rear of the ValVerde Restaurant on the old road to Praia da Luz, celebrated the first anniversary of the club on September 20.
The club has seen membership numbers grow steadily over the past year, with many taking advantage of the 20 week Come and Go option which allows them to return to their home countries regularly without losing a day of bowling.
The club continues to play in the Bowls Portugal Premier League, in which they managed to finish second during their debut season, and members will be taking part in 18 competitive games through until March 2012.
Visitors to the club are always welcome and free training sessions are available for beginners looking to take up the sport.
