Algarve artist Tara Esaguy Cohen is launching a charity calendar depicting illustrations of local animals and wildlife.
Proceeds from the ‘Algarve Animals’ calendars, which costs 10 Euros each, will be donated to the Refúgio Aboim Ascensão children’s home
in Faro.
“As a mother of three, I find this charity especially important as it offers the opportunity to help improve the lives of abused, abandoned or neglected children in the region,” she said.
“Normally it is people aiding animal charities. This time the animals will be aiding the people instead.”
The calendar will be launched during an exhibition of works by Tara complemented by stoneware sculptures by Sylvain Bongard at the Convent in Lagoa, with an opening evening on September 24 from 6pm.
Entrance to the exhibition is free and it is open Monday to Friday from 9am until 12.30pm and then between 2pm and 5pm while on Saturdays the exhibition will be open from 3pm until 7pm.
