Lisbon-based animal association Animalife will be at Portugal’s Continente and Continente Bom Dia stores this weekend (September 24-25) in a bid to raise food and other much-needed items for over 25,000 animals.
Anyone can contribute by donating animal food or other pet-related items (leads, collars, food bowls, litter bags, hygiene and deworming products), or by volunteering to help out during the campaign.
Businesses are also invited to come on board by transporting items collected, or by allowing its staff to help out.
Donations will go to the 160-plus associations that Animalife supports throughout Portugal.
Last year, weekend food drives raised 460 tons of food – a number the association hopes to beat this year.
Animalife will also be accepting donations the following weekend (October 1-2) at Continento Modelo and Pet & Plant stores throughout Portugal.
