Animal lovers and associations from all over Portugal will be meeting this Saturday (October 10) in Lisbon for the annual animal rights rally ‘Marcha Animal’.
Organised by ANIMAL, the rally will begin at 3pm in Campo Pequeno and end in front of Parliament, with “food, an open microphone, animal association stands, musical entertainment” and animal-related activities.
Dozens of Portuguese celebrities are expected, including comedians João Manzarra and Nuno Markl.
“There are more and more celebrities who are showing concern for the animal cause. Luckily, these people are proud to take a public stance about this matter,” said ANIMAL president Rita Silva.
The initiative is open to all and comes the week after animals got their first MP in parliament, André Silva of PAN, the People Animal and Nature party.
