The Association for the Protection of Animals in the Algarve (APAA) has arranged an animal food collection at the Intermarché supermarket between Lagoa and Carvoeiro today (Friday) and tomorrow between 8.30am and 9pm.
Shoppers will be asked to purchase an item of dog or cat food to donate to representatives of the APAA when leaving the supermarket.
The food collection has been organised in association with other animal charities of the Algarve with each organisation being present at the supermarket for four hours each day.
Other charities and organisations are: Amigos dos Gatos from Albufeira, Quintinha dos Animais (Goldra), Associação de Defensa dos Animais of Portimão, The Donkey Sanctuary in Estômbar and Elaine Peterson, a private animal worker.
