PJ police are “trying to identify” two armed men, caught on film, who gunned down an Angolan man at the entrance of an apartment block in Bairro dos Navegadores, Oeiras in the early hours of Saturday morning. According to reports, investigators are working on the killing being a ‘settling of scores’, possibly over drug trafficking. The victim was shot four times in the head, and once in the chest, before his attackers made off in a dark Mercedes, driven by a third party, which was later found torched in Odivelas. Correio da Manhã tabloid describes how “thousands of euros and Kwanzas (Angolan currency)” were found scattered over the floor next to the victim when PSP agents arrived. Shell casings found at the scene were said to be from munitions “habitually used in Portugal by security forces, their use prohibited for civilians”.
