Specialist firefighting equipment was recently donated to São Brás de Alportel Bombeiros by The Angels Theatre Group.
Following the group’s successful Variety on Stage concert in June, more than €5,000 was raised to support the fire brigade.
After consultation with Nidia Amaro, the President of São Brás de Alportel Bombeiros Board, an order was placed for essential firefighting equipment.
Last month, the goods arrived including specialist Hill Fire Fighting uniforms and the latest design in light-weight compressed air tanks.
A spokesman for The Angels Theatre Group told the Algarve Resident: “The equipment will enable the brave firefighters to enhance their ability to keep the people of São Brás safe and surrounding areas protected from fires.”
