Algarve children’s charity ACCA is hoping to make Christmas special for 1,800 youngsters this year.
Last year ACCA’s “Angel Programme”, which is designed to bring a smile to the faces of children in need during the festive season, collected 1,400 gifts for youngsters. This year the requests have escalated, but the children’s charity is committed to ensuring that every name in its list will have something special at Christmas.
The ACCA committee has already collated the requests from the homes, orphanages, institutions and charities it works with.
The fundraising programme then starts as “Angels” (volunteers) come into the equation by buying gifts for particular children, or donating money so that gifts can be purchased on their behalf. A growing number of sponsors are also involved each year.
ACCA is still looking for more “Angels”. If you would like to help, call 963 494 788 or 919 617 995.
