Andrew Lloyd Webber tribute concert

Portuguese classical music singer Sofia Escobar, the new Christine from The Phantom of the Opera London cast, and British tenor John Addison will be accompanied by Orquestra do Algarve in a tribute concert to Andrew Lloyd Webber on July 23 at Vale do Lobo Resort from 10pm.

Guests can expect to be transported into the theatre hall with renditions from Jesus Christ Superstar, Evita, Cats and Phantom of the Opera, all of which have earned Lloyd Webber seven Tony Awards, three Grammy Awards, an Oscar and a Golden Globe.

Andrew Lloyd Webber is regarded as one of the greatest composers of musicals of the late 20th century.

He has achieved great popular success in musical theatre and has been referred to as “the most commercially successful composer in history”.

Several of his musicals have run for more than a decade both in the West End and on Broadway.

His musical company, the Really Useful Group, is one of the largest theatre operators in London.

Themes that will be performed will include The Music of the Night from Phantom of the Opera, Don’t Cry for Me Argentina from Evita, Memories from Cats and I Don’t Know How to Love Him from Jesus Christ Superstar.
