Best Actor nominations are some of the usual suspects: George Clooney (The
Descendants), Brad Pitt (Moneyball) and Gary Oldman (Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy) as well as Jean Dujardin (The Artist) and Demián Bichir (A Better Life), who is being named the underdog of the race and therefore has every chance of a surprise win.
In the female category, there are two heavy hitters: Meryl Streep (The Iron Lady) and Glenn Close (Albert Nobbs), closely followed by Michelle Williams (My Week with Marilyn), Rooney Mara (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) and Viola Davis (The Help). E.B.
