Early music concerts are taking place in August in two unique settings in the Vila do Bispo council.
The Sons Antigos do Sul initiative by the Lagos Music Academy is bringing to the Ermida de Nª Sra da Guadalupe chapel and Sagres Fortress three concerts featuring ancient musical sounds from different periods and using various instruments designed to replicate those of old times.

August 5 – Sagres Fortress – Igreja de Nª Sra da Graça
“As Nações (Re)unidas” – José Rodrigues Gomes (bassoon and flute), Tiago Simas Freire (flute) and Sofia Nereida Pinto (harpsichord)
August 12 – Ermida de Nª Sra de Guadalupe
“Baroque Generation” – Nuno Mendes (violin), Ji Yun Kang (cello) and Elsa Mathei (harpsichord)
August 19 – Sagres Fortress – Igreja de Nª Sra da Graça
“Le Goût Théatral” – Daniela Tomaz (flute, transverse and percussion), Ji Yun Kang (cello) and Elsa Mathei (harpsichord)
Concerts start at 5.30pm and entrance is free.
