A turtle has had his two front legs replaced by furniture coasters after having them bitten off by a racoon.
Sally Pyne’s pet turtle Lucky was struggling with his injuries so she decided to help him after watching him shove himself around on his two back legs.
At a visit to a vet, Lucky was bandaged and stitched up but this left the troubled turtle immobile until a reptile expert suggested to Sally, who lives in California, that four furniture coasters should be attached to Lucky’s underbelly so his front would be raised to the right height.
Lucky is now back at home with his owner and turtle girlfriend Lovey, who has supposedly not noticed a difference in her playmate and is still resisting his amorous advances.
